Matthew Dear’s 2003 minimal “pop” like anthem “Dog Day”s gets the remix treatment from some of the best in the business. The Robsoul Remixes sees Chicago house legend DJ Sneak, [Robsoul] front man Phil Weeks & the more minimally minded Chris Carrier all turn out a quality take on this now minimal classic.
As the year goes by I seem to be finding myself less and less interested in the Cecille & affiliated labels sound. When they first launched I thought great a new (ish) sound but after the same sounding releases time and again I’m finding some (not all) more throw away Mp3 than ones for the collection.

I was hooked after one listen on Baaz’s deeper than deep house music. So today when I log in to myspace to find a nice mail from Baaz and a link to his new mix i was really pleased and excited to hear it.
Stimming’s rework of “Una Pena” is like a breath of fresh air lovely warm summery rhythms work next to tight drums, loose percussion, wood blocks and timbres. He breaks down by introducing Violeta’s mesmerizing singing which comes in and literally takes over the track.

When you think of Mobilee the label run by Anja Schneider who do you think of ? Well I’ll tell you who I think of: Sebo K, Pan Pot & Anja herself but not in a million years would I have ever associated UK Techno stalwart & label owner of the fantastic Ferox records - Russ Gabriel with this German label.

Gerald Simpson better known as A Guy Called Gerald continues [Perlon's] fantastic run in form with his first release within a year. The In ya Head EP is two cuts of irrestistable dark house and techno.
Anton Zap is a young house producer from Russia.We got in touch with Anton & he kindly agreed to do us a short mix which were loving at the moment. It’s kind of alternative deep house music very warm, very summery and very good.
Australian based indie label [Modular] have teamed up with the guys at Scion A/V to release a four track remix compilation appropriately titled “Modular Remixed”. This will be a download only compilation and the guys behind the comp have decided to very kindly hand it out to the masses in a handy (Modular tracks for DJS zip folder).
This should keep us busy for a while, or at least over the weekend. Here we have three quality and full tracklisted Detroit classic mixes available for download from one of Scotlands head techno honcho’s Vince Watson.
