Koss - “Earth” (Âme Remix) [Mule Electronic] (buy)
Koss is another guise from Japanese electronic music producer Kuniyuki Takahashi. Some of you will know Kuniyuki from releases on [Mule Musiq] & [Mule Electronic]. Here we have his latest release and quite a good one at that “Earth” EP comes with three tracks and a great Âme remix to boot, today we will be reviewing the latter but be sure to check the full release as you wont be disappointed.
Kristian Beyer & Frank Wiedemann AKA Âme work real wonders on “Earth” & it sounds little like Koss’s floaty original (which is available on the EP). The talented German duo manage to transform something so soothing, light and airy into a fabulous slow building remix that will take you to the next level. Starting off slow with a sweet sounding synth that hooks you in from the get go in comes some tight percussion, deep strumming drums a hypnotic like chanting and some very clever and intricate layering. This gets more intense as you go further in to the unknown until eventually exploding into a wonderful mixture of sound everything coming together perfectly to create a beautiful sea of sound. Synths shoot off in different directions the hypnotic bass from the drums stays deep and prominent and that unique sounding hook continue’s to work wonders. The duo represent “Earth” in the best way possible its busy, complicated, full of tension and very enjoyable. I suggest you listen to the original to see just how much Kristian & Frank have made their mark on this and transformed it from tranquil and chilled into a dance floor friendly piece. This is one very good remix that deserves your attention.
