Langenberg - “Judgement Day” [Drumpoet Community] (buy)
Max Heeson aka German house producer Langenberg is still relatively new to producing & with only three EP’s under his belt he is fast becoming a producer to keep an eye on, which his latest (& best to date IMO) -Judgement Day EP only solidifies.
Judgement Day rolls in with slightly off key rhythmic drum patterns, complexed minimal percussion & some tightly woven in background vocals which, inturn is met by the main vocals of the black American sample not too far away from Oracy’s “Another Family Day”. The drums are joined together by some sweet synths and the percussion continues to weave inbetween the drums and the vocals. Just as the track starts to wind down Langenberg introduces some luscious chords to the mix which work well as a break down & with the rest of the track as a whole. He then lets the vocal roll out in its full glory before easing back in the rhythms from the drums, percussion and vocals.
Bleachin, on the flip is Drumpoet & deep house music at its best. It’s a slow deep workout of tight pads, loose shaker style percussion & some of Drumpoet’s simple signature grooves. Its been expertly produced & its as pure, deep & clear as the water from one of the many Swiss lakes.
