Markus Fix/ Minimono - (Sweet Murmur/ House In The House) [Love Letters From Oslo] (buy)

The second record from the Oslo sister label (Love Letters From Oslo) sees a split release featuring Markus Fix & the Italian house duo Minimono, who you may know from their 2007 release on Tuning Spork the Nobody In Da Club EP. Markus Fix has been a firm fixture here on RC this year and rightfully so this is just another record that puts him ever higher on the ladder to becoming break through producer of the year, well at least in my ears.

Sweet Murmur by Minimono is a powerful, and quite infectious dance floor tool. It’s bouncy full of rhythm and groove and has a lot of depth to it, one of those tracks that fills a set nicely you could quite easily use it more than once and if your technical enough it would sound good layered across other tracks. It just keeps going one of those alfresco records that your going to hear in the summer & quite possibly one you don’t want to be with out.

Markus Fix’s “House in the House” is a real hypnotic burner. This is a proper cool percussive house record, which changes shape midway through, by introducing a real warm vocal on top of break stabs and warm rolling percussion. The thing about these records is the simplicity and the depth, you don’t realise how use full these tracks will serve you as your out on the circuit. Also if you like the sounds of this i can highly recommend the first realise from Love Letters From Oslo inparticularly ”Tusch For Mike” for me this is one of the best records this year and one of the most under rated too.
