Move D - ”Between Us” EP [Shanti] (buy)

David Moufang continues his decent to top the end of year producer charts with another fine slice of deep and dubby house music. The Between Us EP is a quality two tracker of the finest stripped back deep house music. Mr. Move D who already sits at the top of the tables for best album (Songs From The Beehive anyone?) Moufang just knows how to make deep vibes work incredibly well. With a slew of expertly crafted house and techno releases this year on many different labels i think its about time more people took notice of David and his quite amazing talent for consistently producing high quality electronic music.

Between Us sees it drop on a brand new Russian label [Shanti Records] & what a way to start your new label by inviting Move D to cut the ribbon so to speak.

First up is “Lush Summer Rain” this is the perfect title for what your about to hear and with the unpredictable English summer were having this is perfect for this time of year. He gets things moving with some fast paced percussion and some deep - incoming drums. Vibrant hand claps melt there way in and you begin the journey into the rain. Strumming drums and beautiful synths glide in like on top of a cloud these build up and work very well next to the percussion. The mood changes and the atmosphere takes a turn for the best the bassline is long and prominent the synths are airy and light and the percussion is strong yet tight. This is a very fine piece of electronic music if your familiar with David and his sound this is most definitely for you. Meandering over peaks and troughs for a good 8 Min’s this is a record that takes you that little further. However for me the best is yet to come.

“Between Us” is like taking a trip back to when house was consistently great. Gorgeous deep & loving house vibes ooze from every part of this fine piece of wax, to me this reminds me more of summer than “Lush Summer Rain”. One for the heads down grooving - in the Ibizan sunshine brigade. It sits well next to tracks from RC favorites Agnes, Baaz & Slowhouse It’s just pure uncomplicated house music at its best. The vocal snippets are typical for this style of house - warm and peppered, the groove is inescapable and the over all feel is very pleasing indeed. The luscious keys from the piano take it that step further and when working next to the lovely warm synths and the seductive vocals you have something a bit special. Without doubt when listening to this you will feel the need to get out in the sunshine, don your hat and shades on & find a cool spot to chill. Expertly crafted deep house music you can not afford to miss.
