Nick Curly - “On My Way” (Pier Bucci’s Mucha Salsa Remix) [Supernature] (buy)
Deep houser, Nick Curly brings the goods to the table with a solid track from himself and a follow up remix from Chilean house wizard Pier Bucci. Nick has had many a good release in his time be that via Plastic City or his own label 8 bit and of course it doesn’t stop there, Curly must be one of the busiest producer’s/ label bosses out there as this year we have seen his new label Cecille really take off and recently he has introduced a sister label Cecille Numbers. This time around we see him releasing on Audiofly’s label Supernature Records.
On my way is a solid deep house track that will favour all you [Plastic City] heads out there. Full of rhythm and groove this really has good vibes just pouring out of it. Not too far away from some of Loco Dice’s earlier work Nick has produced a day time DC10 warm up track if ever there was one. Lots of warm pads and shuffled percussion it works really well it has a great energy and quite an underestimated rhythm. You don’t realise how useful this track is until you play it & play it loud.
The flip side sees Pier Bucci work his Chilean magic with his “Mucha Salsa” Remix. This is much more intricate and one that Pier has paid a lot more attention to detail, not only this but has also added vocal snippets of some sort of chanting. Typical Pier Bucci with fantastic layering full of warmth & rhythm this will suite you Loco, Luciano Villalobos heads down to the ground. It has that sticks and stones approach to the percussion and a sort of echoing drums which is backed up by a whole number of wood instruments. It all comes together incredibly well and will be sure to put a spark into your set when dropped at the right moment.
