RC Playlist -06- Saying Hello To Summer Pt 3
By Joe • Jun 14th, 2008 • Category: Featured Story, Music, Playlists
So were up to the final part of some tried and tested summer tracks that go down a treat when doing it the alfresco way. Here’s five more of my most played summer tracks i hope some of you will enjoy these as much as i have & will be doing later on this summer.
DJ Sneak - “Keep On Groovin” (Ian Pooley’s Fierce Mix) [Motor Music 1997] (buy)
Sneak & Pooley two of the 90’s biggest house heads and both responsible for some classic records and remixes. This is one of those house jams that gets the people groovin, play it when the sun is shining and the alcohol is flowing. It never fails.
Erick “More” Morillo “Dancing” (A “Little” “More” Dub) [Strictly Rhythm 1994] (buy)
Yes that’s right your eyes aren’t deceiving you this is a track from Erick Morillo! perhaps the cheesiest man in dance music today, but he hasn’t always been. Rewind to 1994 when he puts out “Dancing” on uber house label Strictly Rhythm, with Barbara Tucker & Zhana Saunders on vocals and himself & Little Louie Vega on the remix you know its going to be good. The “Dub” is where it’s at quality house music from a once quality label. Whats not to like?
Twisted Pair - “Horny Hustle” [NRK Sound Division 2000] (buy)
Peak time speaker jumping action now. Joeski & Dano AKA the Twisted pair get all horny with their own ”Hustle”. It has a really great energy, all most carnival vibe. Something for everyone to get up and have a little move to even the most coolest sit down sunglasses crew will be up and on it. TIP!
Soft House Company - “What You Need” [Global Village 1990] (buy)
Old house records that focus on piano riffs are quite significant in the North of England so much so Paul Taylor has made a living of them with his “Retro” nights that go up and down the North of England each and every week, in fact its more of a brand than a night. Anyway here’s a classic piano track that has had a little bit of sunshine sprinkled on it for good measure.
R-Tyme - “Use Me” (M.K Remix) [Trance Fusion 1993] (buy)
A solid house track from R- Tyme AKA Darryl Wynn & Derrick May, remixed by Mark Kinchen, a match made in house heaven. I find vocals don’t go down to well on the alfresco tip, however this is an exception. I’ll drop this as it starts to get around dusk and were about to take things inside and go a whole lot deeper. Deep vocal vibes from three of the best.
Ian Pooley - “My Anthem” (Plant Life Mix 1) [Force Inc Music Works 1995] (buy)
OK, so i said five but a party wouldn’t be complete without an “anthem” & it would be rude not to include this fantastic record from Ian Pooley with an equally fantastic remix from the minimal god Robert Hood under his “Plant Life” guise. The sound of my perfect summer.
