Rewound Circuit Of The Week

Acid house has played a big part in Northern clubbing for many years now, with clubs like the Hacienda in Manchester & club nights such as The Gallery, ARK, Orbit & the legendary Back to Basics in Leeds. Unfortunately a lot of these clubs have since hung up their headphones due to one reason or another, & finding a good Acid house night is quite scarce these days, well apart from Back to Basics which celebrated it’s 15th birthday back in 2006. Basics is a world wide phenomenon as far as club nights go everyone and there Mother has played at Basics and a lot of DJ’s don’t think they have fully accomplished everything in dance music until they have took to the wheels of steel over at My house formally known as Stinkys Peephouse. The atmosphere that you get from a night at Basics is one of the best you will ever have, everyone goes out of their way to make an effort. The crowd & vibe of the place is as friendly as it comes and the line ups and music are what dreams are made of, week in week out you can expect the an eclectic selection of the worlds finest DJ’s. The record i choose to look back on today has lots of good memories for me for various reasons, and because it’s just a classic in it’s own right. I was going to go for the original but instead i opted for the quite rare remix from Hardfloor. A Guy Called Gerald “Voodoo Ray” (Hardfloor Remix) (d/l).
