Rhadoo - “Dor Mit Oru Ep” - [Cadenza] (buy)
It’s Rhadoo’s turn in the hot seat as he prepares Cadenza’s latest. Quickly following in the footsteps of his label mate Petre Inspirescu and his excellent “Tips Ep” from last year, Rhadoo continues Cadenza’s great run in form by creating a very unique sounding EP. “Dor Mit Oru” takes in alot of influences, much more on a house tip than anything, with hints of jazz, techno and deeper sounds all rolled into one. We start with “Bau” a good solid drum track which reminds me alot of the “Lookosphere Ep” from Lemos & Kreon. To get the full effect of this EP you will need to listen to the record’s on a decent stereo system with the volume turned up so you get the depth of the tracks. ”Baisbe Alt Bass” takes things to another level going more deeper and a little more experimental with vibrant percussion fizzing & shooting off in many different directions, quite hypnotic and very deep.”Elan” takes a dramatic change in direction much more calmer with a lovely soothing melody & soft keys that twinkle delicatly in the moonlight. The last track “Slagare” is my favorite this is where Rhadoo combines house & techno just right using a deep & dubby bass tight keys & that cool Romanian percussion we all know and love. It’s almost jazzy. I tell you one thing it would be hard to put these tracks in a box, as Rhadoo was thinking outside the box when he came up with these. So we’ve had two of the three from the RPR Soundsystem … Next up Raresh ? Here’s to wishful thinking.
