The Viewers - “Streethorn” [Audiomatique] (buy)
Rating: ★★½☆☆

The anonymous “Viewers” make a return visit to Audiomatique, the label that gave us last years big hitter “Blank Images”. This time their back with a track titled “Streethorn” & like Blank Images this is set to be another good record. I can’t find anything on the Viewers only that they have one release & have just released another, both of which are on Poker Flat’s sister label Audiomatique Recordings.

Streethorn is a good piece of melodic house music, quite light & airy this one floats by like a cloud in the summer. The viewers use what sounds like a piccolo (among other instruments) to build up quite a dramatic tension. With Streethorn they combine the floaty sounds of this with a shuffled percussion & syncopated hand claps all of which work well together. The only thing i can find fault about this is the length just shy on 6 minutes, not long enough for my liking, still if you like to mix it up a bit this would be a good one to drop.
