Alrighty, randomcircuits.com is up. Shawn has switched the blog to the wordpress engine and we are going to start working on a new spiffy theme/template. Exciting times, my friends!
Apparat - Arcadia (Boys Noize remix) [Infiné, 2008] (d/l)
Spanking new remix kit of Arcadia on Infiné, Boys Noize and Telefon Tel Aviv do the honors. Boys Noize puts the original on a more dancey tip, steering the direction to the funky and bouncy roads without sacrificing feeling and the ethereal aspects. Had some steep expectations on Telefon Tel Aviv’s work, as their Komponent remix is one of my very favorites. Instead of doing it the delicate Komponent style, they bring out some attitude and sharpens up the original to something slightly more fierce. Both very good remixes, on par with the original atleast! The fun thing about the Boys Noize remix is the blatant Organ Donor melody they’re using (can be heard clearly in the beginning), pretty cool.

Brass meets intricate rhythms, creating a dramatic effect on this opening track on the compilation “Pingipung Blows: The Brass”

I thought that the boys noize remix was very interesting and very different from his other stuff. He is usually hard electro with run times about half that of this track. It was really refreshing and surprising.

some very nice use of brass sounds on Hercules & Love Affair - ‘Blind’ as well.
