The Road Of Life through an Aria

Lee Jones - Aria (Tiger Stripes Remix) [Aus Music; 2008] (d/l)
Lee Jones, who is 1/3 of the excellent My My, has something special here with Aria. It is a lasting track that won’t grow old after a mere month. People will still be reaching for this at the end of the year. Tiger Stripes was smart not to change the make-up of the track. Instead, he made it more danceable while keeping the feeling the same. Minimal with a powerful melody - catchy as hell. I also went running back to Songs for the Gentle. Lee Jones, thank you.
Francois K - Road Of Life (Quiet Village Sound Factory Dub) [Deep Space; 2007] (d/l)
Tomorrow is the independence day of the Dominican Republic. When they celebrate something they go all out wild. This track is for that type of moment. Quiet Village, Matt Edwards and Joel Martin, give the original some balls. This will be the sound that the kids in the clubs will be screaming for. Play this and get ripped to shreds. You know Radioslave has got your back.

Im not feeling the tiger stripes remix at all.I dont feel it has the same simplicity as the original, its not bad i just prefer the original by a far.
The original is a fantastic piece … but i do agree that both will feature in peoples end of year “best of”.
wow - you guys are really riding sherburne’s jock.
hopefully next week you’ll post all the other tracks in his february top 10 (posted 02-13).
start reading some other blogs to “borrow” from
original thought much?
Ouch. Personally, I’ve found that Aria’s been quite tipped as is, by a number of valid sources, so I don’t see what point there is in posting it here. i.e. it’s just reaffirming the way of tastes are going - jumping to post a download to a hot track, not much to it. This blog has always been great for introducing great stuff, not just posting it. Also, the least you could do is not put it up for download, since If it has even been released yet, it certainly isn’t old. I’m not to stop your posting content, but at least be responsible enough to not give away a high-quality download for tracks like this.
i like when you talk dirty to me
@ Todd i dont read his blog i might have a quick peek every now and again. Proberly about once every two months.I post what i like and what is out at the moment or whats coming out and i feel that will do well.
“Start reading some other blogs to borrow from” ???? what all this about
Your either jealous for some reason which i cant understand why as your getting the MP3 ? or just throwing your toys out of the pram.
Damn, my boy has got my back. RC, what a family!
Forgive me for taking this long to respond. It certainly took a while trying to decipher exactly what you were trying to say.
Free mp3s and copyright infringement doesn’t appease me; well presented credible information does. Just because you offer tracks for download doesn’t make me (or the artists and labels) happy.
Clearly the only thing I am jealous of is your mastery of the english language. If you’d like this blog to carry even a shred of respectability, I suggest having one of your other three tight RC family members proofread your posts before they go up. At the very least, use a spelling and grammar check. I’d easily ignore this if the only evidence was in your comments (note the proper usage of “your” here). Unfortunately, that isn’t the case. Your Eddie Richard post today contained even more glaring mistakes than your response to my comments from this post.
My original comment went to show that in the past week, you (as an RC family) have posted four of the ten tracks contained in Sherburne’s february 13th post. I’m skeptical this is merely a coincidence. Looking forward to next week when you guys get your hands on the other six tracks.
You say that you don’t read Philip Sherburne’s blog outside of a peak or two every month or so. Maybe you should more often. You could “proberly” learn a thing or two about electronic music journalism.
Haha aww bless you really have spat your dummy. I know my grammar is shite ive mentioned it before.NEXT!?
“Free mp3s and copyright infringement doesn’t appease me”
thats funny because i know you visit a certain “free music site” because i visit the same one!!! hahaha.
This blog isnt about who can write the best, its about the music we like, and were happy with it so are the THOUSANDS of people who hit the blog every day. If you dont like it dont read it sunshine losing your “INPUT” isnt going to give me sleepless nights or anything. And if you didnt realise sherburne is a journo and studied it. I didn’t !
I do it for the love of music .Blah blah blah you say your not in it for the free mp3’s well ….
You can think its a merely a coincidence or not i couldnt care less i know ME personally i dont take note of other peoples lists. I review what i want and not what everyone else might think is “NOW” . And i know Joel is the same I cant say that the other guys dont because i dont know maybe they have been influenced by sherburnes list! Even if they have is it such a bad thing? I think il take you up on the offer i might start reading his blog if i could lean about music journalism thanks big kissesx
umm just wanted to clear up that the todd commenting here is not the same todd that regularly reads and comments (and quite positively) on here, hope you weren’t confused. Go RC !!
Take Sherburne’s cock out of your mouth and pay attention. Here are my sources:
Lee Jones from Sasse’s RA podcast
Francois K from a Music For Robots list. I thought Masterpiece was interesting so I checked it out.
don’t get it, why did i get banned ? 2 different todd’s at work here guys. some weird fuckin shit been happenin on this site.
Nobody should have been banned.il look into it and see what going on. Its the first ive heard of it sorry for any miss- understanding. We never have and never will ban or remove comments from the blog. our apologies for the mixup
